L’ispirazione di U-NI-TY muove dai ritratti della fotografia diretta, la Straight Photography. Immagini “senza filtro” scattate dai più grandi interpreti del periodo della Grande Depressione. Un tuffo negli archivi dei protagonisti della prima fotografia documentaria, come Dorothea Lange, in grado di immortalare il disagio sociale di quegli anni e farlo conoscere al grande pubblico. Un’istantanea della società americana del tempo e dei costumi della gente. Il grande lavoro di ricerca sui capi vintage del periodo compreso tra gli Anni ’30 e i ’40, a caccia di stimoli, emozioni e nuove soluzioni stilistiche, costituisce la base dell’intera collezione invernale 2009-2010. Giacche da lavoro, ampi pantaloni, cardigan oversize fatti a mano, grandi sciarpe fatte a mano e gilet evidenziano materiali e motivi diversi, combinati tra loro in maniera originale. Il gusto per il vintage, divenuto la cifra stilistica di U-NI-TY, può esprimersi pienamente nella modernità dei tagli e nelle silhouette degli abiti. Questa rinnovata estetica dandy ci fa riscoprire l’intramontabile eleganza dell’abbigliamento essenziale, non per questo meno lussuoso. Un successo decretato, ancora una volta, dalla perfetta sintonia tra la grande esperienza di Jean-Pierre Gassa e la passione creativa di suo figlio Greg.

U -NI-TY draws its inspiration from Straight Photography shoots, unfiltered pictures taken by the greatest interpreters of the Great Depression. A plunge into the archives of the protagonists that pioneered documentary photography, like Dorothea Lange, and could immortalise people’s privations of the time, and acquaint the public with them. A picture of the American society of the time and of people’s customs.
 The extensive research work on the vintage clothing of the ‘Thirties and ‘Forties has led to new ideas, emotions and stylistic solutions to be found throughout the 2009-2010 Winter collection. Worker jackets, loose trousers, hand made oversize cardigans, big hand made scarves and waistcoats come in various materials and embody different motifs all of which are originally combined.
 The taste for vintage, the chief stylistic feature of U-NI-TY, is fully expressed in the modernity of cuts and in the silhouette of clothing. Their renewed dandy aesthetics enables us to rediscover the timeless elegance of this essential yet luxurious clothing.
 A success once more decreed by the perfect harmony between Jean-Pierre Gassa’s great experience and his son Greg’s creative talent.
