7 for All Mankind was born in 2000 in Los Angeles, California, a place where the field of denim is the object of cult and research in depth. The brand achieved immediate success when it first exported the concept of premium denim on a vast scale. Innov ative washing and finishing combined with a carefully tailored fit enabled the brand to become immensely popular in its first year. In a few years 7 For All Mankind has become one of the most appreciated brands by trend-setters all over the world and by Hollywood stars; as early as 2002, besides the women’s models, a complete men’s collection was introduced. Furthermore, the brand had countless collaborations with designers and firms such as Azzedine Alaia, Pucci, Zac Posen, Evan Yurman and The Great China Wall. In August 2007, 7 For All Mankind was taken over by VF Corporation (NYSE: VFC); thanks to their growing success, in less than a year the brand opened 18 single-brand boutiques in the USA, 13 in Asia, and one in Brazil. Last May the American Brand chose Paris (223, Rue Saint Honoré) for the opening of their first European flagship store, which can pride itself on an interior design that draws its inspiration from such elements as luxury, modern elegance and comfort. For the occasion a limited edition denim was presented (only 200 items available at the Paris store) with a label decorated by a small Tour Eiffel (instead of the classic 7), a strass label for the women’s version and an embroidered one for the men’s version. On the back pockets the unmistakable squiggle. At present, 7 For All Mankind’s production ranges from sportswear to footwear, from accessories to women’s, men’s and children’s clothing. In the coming month of June two partnership stores at Dubai and in Kuwait will be added to the countless European ‘Shop in Shop’, like Galeries Lafayette and Printemps in Paris or Harrods in London.
