LEATHER EMBROIDERY

As our eyes observe, our glance changes,
gets hold of space and lives in it; and through space,
it takes on flesh and skin,
a body of its own,
and becomes transcendent immanence,
itself a world.

Coeurs de cuir   The graphic quality of these garments’ inlays is the distinctive feature that breaks off with today’s fashion trends. The extreme rigour and neatness of the design enhances the figure of passionate, daring women. The leather drapes, hems, knots and embroideries adorn the body and reveal glimpses of femininity.
Born in 2006, Coeurs-de-cuir presents its first collection that consists of 25 items, mostly coats, in nappa-leather, suede and other precious types of leather finely worked by hand like lace and silk,  intriguing treatments that make the garments alluring, and lead viewers to touch them and ask for information. Drawing on Coeur de cuir by Patrick Gofman, young graphic designer Dario Agrippa exploits references and quotations that enable us to recapture the spirit of the Nouvelle Vague, to smell its scent in Balenciaga’s and Vionnet’s late-romantic creations, tinged with the punk sensations of the ‘80s.

Also the colours, in particular up-to-date shades of blue and purple, appear natural, true-to-life, neat.
The emotional quality, passionate involvement and basic unconventionality of the garments are the outcome of a creative interpretation of the brand’s name ‘coeurs-de-cuir’ traceable to a  collaboration between manufacturer Carla Falleri and a team of young Italian fashion designers. The heart, the most important and vital organ of the human body, and the skin, its outer layer, are merged to express the real, creative, tangible essence of a woman.
