Kawasaki

Since last February Italy has been literally flooded with Kawasaki footwear: you may have seen it in the streets of your city, in the most alternative public places, on the pages of magazines and you may have asked yourselves a lot of questions. Firstly, where does it come from ? The answer is very simple, straight from Denmark; so, don’t be mislaid by the Japanese name. Secondly, how many colours does it come in? All we can tell you is that you have seen very little so far, only a foretaste of it all. Lastly,  we can now confirm that these shoes also come in a high fashion model, but you will have to wait until September to get hold of a pair of low cut boots.

Kawasaki shoes are among this year’s most interesting novelties and among the most chatted-about ones on the net. Boys and girls between 20 and 25 are crazy about these canvas shoes which became a cult object over 20 years ago, and are now on their way to regain their former status. Blogs, forums and webzines that had predicted their arrival on our market, have been flooded with threads and questions. It was the start of the Kawasaki phenomenon.

Careful watchers may have seen the Klaxons, the CSS, Uffie and the Soulwax wearing them,   which proves how closely linked Kawasaki shoes are to the international  art scene.
A few months from now Kawasaki Footwear Team will start their ‘artistic scouting’ in the main underground European capitals to offer young creators a chance to make themselves known through brand communication. Ana Kras, a very young artist from Belgrade, will be the first to sign Kawasaki’s next three campaigns.
As for the ‘special’ patterns (see the success of the cartoon limited edition), from now to October new ‘cosmetic’ models like ‘newspaper’, ‘camouflage’ and ‘Scottish kilt’ will be gradually introduced. All of them available in limited edition, of course, ‘only at cool stores’ and ‘machine-washable’…..but as seldom as possible, please: we like them dirty!
