Kork-Ease

Remember Kork-Ease™ sandals? In the 70’s they were those cool leather platforms that lifted your bell-bottoms off the ground and made you look oh so groovy. What goes around comes around; and with the wedge heel fashion craze of the moment, it’s only natural that the fashion world is going crazy for its original version.
Light, comfortable and affordable, Kork-Ease™ were originally created in the 50's in America as comfort shoes but it wasn’t until the 70’s that the hand-made wedge sandal with signature criss-cross ‘vamp’ straps became the must-have accessory for all hip young girls, and a decided favorite among those of the disco-era. A design that created a global phenomenon and survived the test of time is certainly worthy of its permanent installation in the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute's Landmark Shoe Collection, composed of only 25 types of shoes in its entirety.

KORK-EASE

The classic Kork-Ease™ design is made of beige hide leather, tarnished golden hardware, buckled ankle strap, and suede-covered cork (spelled with a “k” to make it funky!) wedge heel. Their popularity created a phenomenon that spawned a variety of other wedge sandal knock-offs during the past three decades, and now that we are seeing various high fashion versions all over the catwalks, the revamped Kork-Ease™ are in demand and in some of the best stores in the US, UK, France, Switzerland, Italy and Australia. Kork-Ease™ sandals are available in a range of colors, materials and heights, but the simplicity of the models remains consistent with its original design.
