25 anni di LeBook

The bible of experts.
The holy grail of enthusiasts.
A magic box affording countless clues to get in touch with photographers, visual and graphic designers.

A CELEBRATION OF VISUAL COMMUNICATION

Early in the '80s, when Veronique Kolasa created Le Book, she was thinking of a catalogue of creators which could answer the question: "Do you know anyone who can do this...or that?". And here are all the answers in just one reference collector's book.

Bearing witness to the importance of photography and its evolution in the age of the image, the book has been able to mirror a succession of creative trends. After the first issues were exclusively devoted to the Paris scene, in 1995 Le Book launched an issue devoted to New York, and a different one devoted to London, distributed also in Germany and Northern Europe.

Since 2000 Le Book has decided to enrich its contents with names of great renown in the world of fashion including Karl Lagerfield, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Lacroix, Pucci and Hermès. The 2005 edition drew its inspiration from Hermes' epoch-making scarves, whose rich printed patterns match perfectly the square shape of the publication and the creativity it has expressed over the years.

Last November, LeBook presented in Paris the first edition of LeBook Connections, an event devoted to professionals in the fields of fashion, photography, publishing and advertising.

2006, therefore, marks the beginning of a new era, and LeBook catchwords will be essentiality and purity. Whisper it softly, ladies and gentlemen, Yohji Yamamoto will be the editor of this year's issue! After Pucci's color dreams and Hermes' kaleidoscopic layout, a delicate Oriental touch will gently bring us back to a spiritual dimension.
