SUN68 is a project born from Enrico’s Spinazzé’s idea to create a young and innovative brand capable of merging communication with the world of clothing without following the usual language of fashion. 1968, a year of conflicts and changes, is one of the inspiration sources of the brand, which started its adventure in 2005 with a single product, the polo shirt. The conflicts influenced SUN68 items while the firm was determined to bring about changes in the world of fashion in terms of communication, ideas and moods.The reverse of the collar of their first item was the communication medium in SUN68, a series of actions like loving, reading, kissing, dancing, jumping etc. Then the unmistakable ‘no logo’ ∆X, a differential that could express infinite possibilities and a desire not to be standardised, Delta ‘the constant’ and X ‘the differential’ expressing the infinite possibilities that life offers to us and that change us, the very moment when we make a choice. SUN68 rejects standardised look models, and wants to address a public made up of common people, each of whom is unique. It proposes items with recognisable characteristics: “ a print on the reverse of the collar, tears, washings, hand- made mending, colours, fittings”, that can answer different demands. The incredible growth on the Italian market and then on the European one has enabled the brand to widen its offer, to the extent that it has realised a children’s line. The fact that they want to communicate is the main theme underlying the phenomenon SUN68. First of all R-Contest, a reversed competition starting from a prize, the gift to all entrants of a book with white sheets where they can put down their thoughts, to prove that each project is focused on the person. The Contest was then followed by the ‘in store’ communication projects invented by Franco Verzì’s Studio Creativo f03, through which a precise image of SUN68 was promoted, conveying a strong and unmistakable message. “I HAVE A DREAM” in 2008, and “WE LOVE YOU” for 2009, in collaboration with Viabizzuno and Kinnarps, with a view to expressing an idea that refers to our reality and recalls our experience.
SUN68 means first of all a desire to communicate and go along different paths, because “IDEAS CAN CHANGE THINGS”.
