| Francesco Bertollo's passion for footwear started during his studies as a young man. In 1958, Bertollo opened an artisan laboratory with three collaborators to create a limited production of high quality women's footwear. Then in 1967, with his wife, he founded the Shoe Manufacturer Stephen; it is the artisan spirit of those times that still remains at Stephen today. His love of footwear was transmitted from Bertollo to his three children: Antonella, Stefano and Valeria, who in 1990 took part in their father's legacy. Beyond his advantage of having learned from his father, an artisan master, Stefano Bertollo was also stylistically formed at the side of numerous French designers. |
