Sand is the chosen medium for the artist Cristina Bruniera. For her, sand synthesizes the four elements of water, air, earth and fire. After transformation, sand is what remains. A newly formed rock consists of sandy sediments. Rather like life itself: fragile, fickle and shaped by winds, be they favourable or not. Bruniera loves to use sands of different origin, colour and texture to create material works inspired by distant, untouched yet constantly changing landscapes.
