With the invention of new communicative forms and knowledge, historical avant-garde movements were able to leave tradition aside and to completely change the conception of visual art, and the ideas and knowledge they produced were inherited by later generations of artists.The same strong, revolutionary and debunking spirit pervading avant-garde artistic vision at that particular moment in history now inspires Rudolf Dassler Schufabrik. In fact, their innovative three-dimensional forms and design, the social conception of their artistic items, their tendency to advertise, to communicate, to persuade, recalls the disrupting power of avant-garde achievements, just as the principles of sports aesthetics, the rhythm of olympic athletes’ movements, their acrobatic and harmonic quality were the basic values of the products Rudolf Dassler himself made earlier on.
The collection significantly draws on Eastern European cultures, which, under the urge of progress, internationalism and enthusiasm for technology, were able to lyrically interpret geometric forms; as a result, their models are ‘structured’ by blending totally different materials and borrowed past motifs in details achieved through highly technical solutions. Systematic, graphically multi-layered constructions which convey the composite spirit that makes Rudolf Dassler Schufabrik outstanding in the world of sports footwear.
