A (Fake) Snake in the Bag
Lo scorso Aprile 2011 Freitag ha presentato la borsa Fake Snake e se non fosse per quel “Fake” (falso), a prima vista, potrebbe sembrare realizzata con la squamosa pelle del rettile. Chi conosce bene il marchio di Zurigo però non si farà ingannare. Il loro forte interesse per il riciclo ed il rispetto dell’ambiente, ha permesso all’azienda di ritagliarsi uno spazio unico all’interno del mercato degli accessori, grazie alla loro particolare produzione: tracolle, portafogli e zaini ricavati dai ritagli teloni dei camion e dalle cinture di sicurezza delle auto. Mescolando questa filosofia a basso impatto ambientale ad un po’ di ingegno sono riusciti a dimostrare che forse non serve un vero serpente per fare una “borsa di serpente”.
Last April 2011 Freitag presented their Fake Snake bag, and, but for “Fake”, it might really seem realised out of a snake’s scaly skin. Those who are well-acquainted with the Zurich-based brand can’t be deceived, though. Their strong interest for recycled materials, together with an environmental friendly attitude and the special items they manufacture enabled the Firm to find a unique position in the market of accessories: shoulder bags, wallets and knapsacks obtained from cuttings of lorry tarpaulins and cars’ safety belts. By merging this low-impact philosophy with their creativeness they were able to show that one doesn’t have to use a real snake to make a “snakeskin bag”.
