Doug e Ben Burkman, canadesi, qualcosa di più di fratelli: gemelli. Dopo l’esperienza come designer a Gap, decidono di mettersi in proprio e di fondare un loro marchio. Un marchio che prima di essere un capo d’abbigliamento è un’idea, un modo di essere: “Se noi per primi non indossiamo i nostri capi allora tanto vale non creare questo brand”. Da qui in poi inizia la loro esperienza, con la nascita di Burkman Bros nel 2009, una costante e sempre più decisiva scalata verso l’elite dell’abbigliamento casual. Capi di qualità che hanno come influenze correnti diverse, lo stile dei college americani tanto quanto le suggestioni dell’Oriente più colorato, India e Sri-Lanka in testa. Un modo per unire forme occidentali a colori e disegni orientali, puntando sulla versatilità delle trame e su uno spiccato gusto per l’esotico, tra il pop e l’etnico.
Born in Canada, Doug and Ben Burkman are twin brothers, which amounts to something more than simple brothers. After working as designers with GAP, they decided to start a firm and create a brand of their own. A brand which embodies an idea and a mode of being before becoming an item of clothing. We create only items that we are willing to wear. Their experience started with the birth of Burkman Bros in 2009, a firm whose steady progress has made them prominent in the manufacture of casual clothing. High quality items influenced by the style of American colleges with hints from the most colourful Orient, starting from India and Sri-Lanka. A way of merging Western design with Oriental colours and patterns, focusing on the versatility of textures and on a strong taste for the exotic that combines pop and ethnic elements.
