ART AT LAZZARI: MAURA MATTIOLO

In the Afasia collection, the artist Maura Mattiolo created white paintings of informal material. White is a “non-colour” containing all the others. It is a mysterious, pure and spiritual color. Mattiolo uses many different materials (cement, paper, fabric, acrylic, white enamels), shaping them into volumes in white, full of emotions, silences and mental spaces. These are inner places that finally find free expression in Mattiolo’s three-dimensional, abstract forms.
