Suzusan is a Japanese brand founded by Hiroyuki Murase in 2008, whose roots, however, go back centuries. Murase family, based in Arimatsu, Nagoya, has, for five generations, devoted itself to handcraft practices employing the Arimatsu Narumi Shibori techniques passed down in the region. Shibori is a traditional dyeing method in which sections of fabric are bound, stitched, or folded before being dyed. Through the hand of skilled artisans, each dyed textile reveals singular patterns and subtle variations of color, giving rise to a rich, three-dimensional texture. With Suzusan, Hiroyuki Murase reinterprets Shibori in a modern key. Each garment, handmade and therefore unique, combines complex traditional techniques with fine materials, innovative production processes and contemporary design, resulting in sartorial creations of timeless elegance.
