UP: a new generation in fashion design
Established in 1991 in Palermo, the largest and most vibrant neighborhood in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, the UP – University of Palermo is a leading non-profit, private university with more than 30% of its students from more than 50 different foreign countries. The School of Design and Communication and the Fashion Design department at UP are considered among the most cosmopolitan academic communities in Latin America, holding fluent academic exchange programs with Yale, Parsons, NYU, Sorbonne Nouvelle, Politecnico di Milano, University of Zurich and Pekin University.
The four-year program in Fashion Design offers a solid training on textile and molddesign, fashion production, art research, photography, entrepreneurship and business. From the very beginning, students acquire hands-on experience in the main fashion design workshop course, and each semester they show their creations in the Fashion Week Show, an event that brings together the fashion community celebrating cutting-edge research, concept design and experimentation.
Always challenging convention and anticipating trends, the Fashion Design Department programs at UP have become over the years among the most active providing the tools to master fashion, footwear and jewelry design, fashion photography and mold making, taking always full advantage of the extraordinary cultural and professional opportunities that the capital of Argentina offers.
